CAC Mokola DCC charges church workers to live, teach the Bible at 2026 Refresher Course

Christ Apostolic Church, Mokola Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC), Mokola, Ibadan has called on church workers to uphold biblical standards in both conduct and ministry, warning that the growing prevalence of false teachings and unbiblical practices poses a serious challenge to the Church.

The charge was given during the 2026 Refresher Course and Medical Outreach held at the DCC headquarters on Festac Road, Mokola Hill, Ibadan, with the theme: “Walking and Talking the Bible” (Acts 1:1).

The programme featured medical screening, health awareness sessions, worship, lectures and interactive discussions aimed at strengthening church workers for effective service.

CAC Amuwo-Odofin DCC Superintendent, Pastor M. K. Ehinmode served as the guest lecturer, while the DCC Superintendent of Mokola DCC, Pastor Samson Olawale Gbuyiro delivered the welcome address.

In his welcome address, the Mokola DCC Superintendent, Pastor S.O. Gbuyiro, said the refresher course was designed to “sharpen the axe” of church workers in line with Ecclesiastes 10:10, emphasizing the need for continuous spiritual growth and renewal.

“We have gathered for this word feast to learn, relearn and unlearn from our Master and Model, Jesus Christ, through His chosen servants,” he said.

He noted that the Church’s mega theme for the year, “The Bible: God’s Message to Man,” underscores the importance of returning to the authority of Scripture.

“The Bible is not just a book; it is God’s book, written through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Many church workers only work for God but do not work according to the will of God,” he said.

Pastor Gbuyiro urged participants to become “friends of God’s Word,” allowing Scripture to guide their thoughts, speech and actions. He also commended the planning committee led by Pastor J. O. Emmanuel and the District Superintendents for their contributions to the success of the programme.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Superintendent of Amuwo-Odofin DCC, Lagos, Pastor M. K. Ehinmode described church work as a divine calling that demands sacrifice, accountability and integrity.

He explained that “walking the Bible” means living daily according to God’s Word, while “talking the Bible” means communicating God’s truth accurately, wisely and boldly.

Pastor Ehinmode warned against the danger of preaching what one does not practice, noting that such hypocrisy leads to loss of credibility, damaged witness and weakened spiritual authority. He urged church workers to maintain a strong prayer life, study the Scriptures consistently, be filled with the Holy Spirit, guard their speech and uphold truth and integrity in all areas of life.

The refresher course concluded with a call for church workers to lead by example in family life, financial integrity, relationships, sexual purity, decision-making and humble service.

According to the guest lecturer, “The Church becomes stronger when workers consistently walk and talk in the Bible, lives are transformed and Christ is glorified.”

Participants were challenged to examine whether their lives matched their preaching and whether people could truly see Christ in them.
