Wanted: Your Ordinary (or Extraordinary) Faith Story

Wanted: Your Ordinary (or Extraordinary) Faith Story

Like many CT readers, I love our Testimonies section, which features conversion stories.

Our recent testimonies—like the story of a young woman who was addicted to heroin and working at a strip club when some older Christian ladies stopped by with a hot meal—are powerful and worth reading. But sometimes dramatic conversions can make Christians like me feel as though our own encounters with God are somehow less worthy of sharing.

I think, for instance, about how God provided my dear friend Natalie with the perfect job—teaching Bible classes at a Christian high school—after she struggled for years to balance raising children and working outside the home.

Hollywood isn’t clamoring for the movie rights, but Natalie’s story can still encourage others. That’s why I’m happy to share that CT will begin publishing short testimonies from Christians about God’s work in their lives.

Don’t worry: the dramatic testimonies aren’t going anywhere. We’re just adding encouraging anecdotes from people who are already following Christ.

Maybe we can start with you. What has God done in your life, and how has it helped you to hold onto your faith or grow closer to Jesus? We’d love to hear your short story (max. 500 words), and we may feature it in an upcoming issue. We just ask that your story is (1) true and (2) written by you (not AI). You can send it to testimony@christianitytoday.com.
