A new church rank, SPECIAL ASSISTANT VENERABLE SUPERIOR EVANGELIST (Sp. AVSE) has been created for the non clergymen (laity) of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide.
The creation of this new church rank was necessitated by the need to differentiate between the clergy and laity of the church that have received anointment of the rank of ASSISTANT VENERABLE SUPERIOR EVANGELIST.
While speaking on the development, the Pastor and Spiritual Head, C.C.C Worldwide, His Eminence, Reverend E.M.F Oshoffa, made it clear that it is important to recognise and elevate those who have worked diligently and have committed their god-given resources, as well as those who have made visible sacrifices for the growth and development of the Lord’s vineyard, whether such people are clergy or laity.
However, it is also important to establish the difference between the clergy who are full-time workers in the vineyard and the laity who are church members also making an impact with their efforts and contributions to the work of God.

While the clergymen who have been elevated to the rank of ASSISTANT VENERABLE SUPERIOR EVANGELIST would wear the blue cassock with trimmings on the cape, the non clergymen would wear the white cassock with white trimmings (lace) on the cape, as shown in the accompanying picture.

For the surplice (Agbada), the clergymen of ASSISTANT VENERABLE SUPERIOR EVANGELIST rank would wear the light blue colour, with a light yellow cross bar, while the non clergymen of the rank of SPECIAL ASSISTANT VENERABLE SUPERIOR EVANGELIST would wear the surplice (Agbada) of the silver colour with a grey cross bar, as shown in the accompanying picture.

SHEPHERDS are to ensure strict compliance to this pastoral directive in all parishes of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide. On no account must the non clergy (laity) adorn the colours and garment meant for the clergy.
Violation of this directive would attract severe sanctions.
