When they began the journey chanting, “It’s time to build our own Jerusalem” about four years ago, the Imeko City Development Team made up of members of the dissolved Pastor in Council led by SVMSE Gabriel Oshoffa, could have been easily discouraged.
What with the barrage of doubts heaped upon them by sceptics who hinged their pulsating doubts on previous such attempts that had failed.
Such doubting Thomases practically chewed the team while shouting at the top of their voices that previous attempts had failed for lack of transparency and accountability.
Today, however, the song is different. The Imeko City Development Project team have not only proved their mettle but they can walk tall and proud, flaunting a long list of successes and achievements.

Let’s take a quick peek at the list:
1. Completion of 1,200 meters of drainage.
2. Asphalt surfacing of 200 meters road, complete with walkways, slabs, and drain covers.
3. Electrification – connection of the Basilica and its environs to public power (national grid).
4. Provision of Solar Lights.
5. Renovation and completion of Conference Centre to about 80% level by the dissolved Pastor in Council.
6. Painting and giving face-lift to the Basilica for the first time since its completion in the year 2019.
7. Planting of ornamental trees and horticultural beatification of open land opposite the pastor’s residence at Imeko is ongoing.
8. Tiled entrance foyer of the Basilica.
9. Asphalted the ramp at the Basilica entrance.
10. Concrete walkway from Basilica altar to the pulpit.
11. Maintenance/repairs of leaking Basilica roof.
12. Signage of “Celestial City” at the frontage of open field in front of the Pastor’s residence at Imeko.
13. Support for Celestial Women Council’s “Arena Project.”
14. Support for Celestial Women Imeko Basilica Upkeep Project (CWIBUP).
The list is by no means exhaustive but even at that, we still have a long way to go!
Indeed, it wouldn’t be out of place to say that the journey has just begun!

That is why we are making this call for what is perhaps the umpteenth time: Let’s join hands to build and transform Imeko into our own Jerusalem.
Together, let’s actualise the dream of our reverred founder, Saint S.B.J Oshoffa. So much is still required to make this dream a reality.
