British jockey pleads guilty to manslaughter after pub fight leads to death of 71-year-old man

A 26-year-old jockey, Levi Williams, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Peterborough Crown Court over the death of 71-year-old Richard Wingrove following a fight outside the Waggon and Horses pub in Newmarket in March 2025. Prosecutors accepted a lesser plea after the altercation led to a fatal fall, with sentencing set for 4 June. Williams was on bail.
